Day 37 : Yellowknife -> Edmonton

March 13, 2012. Sunny

今天要離開yellowknife了，真是太悲傷了。。。。
但這邊的天氣又讓我好害怕…實在是太殘酷的環境了! 對我來說
It's day to leave from Yellowknife, I felt so sad.....
To me, cold Yellowknife is awful......

我們的飛機是下午一點半，在這之前，Andrew 帶我們去一個秘境…
In the morning, we had some time.
Andrew showed us a secret place....

 我們走跨過一個湖，是真的走在湖面上…約十來分鐘…
就到這個秘密地方…是個結冰的小瀑布。。。。。
We crossed a freeze lake around 10 more minutes.

And we saw this.... freeze falls.

He must be cold and freezing.


Byebye Yellowknife.

Day 36 : Dinner party in Yellowknife

March 12, 2012   Sunny, Temp: 

今天，我的宿主 Claire 為了要招待我們和她的父親…

打算今天辦一桌請朋友們…   再說，之前她問我想吃什麼…

我不小心說了 : I prefer to eat Yellowknife traditional food. 

結果好客的Claire…今天的計劃就是去買一些當地的食材和煮一些道地的料理…

去了當地人皆知的 肉店

 買了…buffalo meat. 還買了北方特產 Arctic char

又去買了魚…且是直接向漁夫買魚…

他的船就被卡在湖中，但在外海還有一艘漁船…

圖三的魚頭比一個人臉還大…

漁夫只有一個人，要包辦所有的工作，捕魚、殺魚、送魚…

如果有人想去yellowknife工作，幫漁夫工作是最好賺的，因為他們很需要人手

回到家就差不多中午了…我們做了簡單的午餐…是Beach家的祖傳小食譜…

左上圖 : 這一罐不知明的東西…就是BEACH家的祖傳秘方，是類似漬品的東西…

把起司放在土司上，先烤一段時間，再放上一些漬物，天殺的好吃…再配上一杯熱茶…

午餐就這麼打發了。

右下圖 : 是一本很難得的食譜…根據 TOM 的說法。。。以前的人上教堂時都會帶一道菜，如果做得很好吃，大家都會互相詢問做法，教堂的人就把大家的食譜給集合成一本書…

這就是食譜的由來…

In the afternoon, I stayed in their house making the apple cake for dinner.
And they went out for skiing.

After their return, we started to prepare the foods together. 

I had great time from cooking together.

 Tom was a chef today, killed the fishes for us.

Just added some spices and lemon, put it into the oven for few minutes. DONE 

And Limei made some meatball....

Andrew made some fired fishes. Those were really yummy.

We started dinner at 7:oopm. Wow Such a good dinner in Yellowknife. 

We met some Claire's friends, and had some chatting with them.

That's a good memory in Yellowknife to me tho.

Day 35 : Cameron River Falls

March 11, 2012   Sunday, Sunny, Temp: -13C

今早我們從B&B 退房，要去哪住呢? 

接下來的二晚，我們要當沙發客…(我很幸運哦，在YELLOWKNIFE找到沙發可以借住)

星期日下午，我們跟隨著宿主去hiking...(如果沒有跟他們接觸，我想我們也不會有機會來這邊)

開車約要45分鐘…地方大真的還是要有車，當然也要熟門熟路才行…

在來之前，在網路上有看過照片、有看過畫…實在很壯觀的一座瀑布…

真是太有幸地可以來看看…

往內走去…盡是一片白茫茫的雪地和露出來的樹…
Keep going. everything is covered with white snow.

 snow angel ~~ then, I couldn't get up.... HELP~

(以後拍照我還是站後面一點好了，感覺個頭比較小一點)

再往內走…廢話我就不多說啦~~  大家看圖就好…

On our way home, we drove on the lake.... awesome!

They told me the thickness of ice could be a high as i have. 

And under the ice, it's still running water.
If someone wanna do Ice Fishing, he have to make a deep hole on this ice. 

we also saw some people playing the ice skating along the road, and some people were on dog sledding.

Actually, they still have lots of wither actives. 

So lucky they are! 

Day 34 : Dog Sled

March 10, 2012  Saturday   Temp: -10℃

一早的大太陽讓我特別興奮唷!!
It's was a beautiful morning, I fell very excited about tonight! I can't wait...

萬里無雲，晚上肯定有光啦~~~~~~    等不及夜晚的到來唷~~

早餐很重要，每天都要吃早餐唷~
I love BREAKFAST!

邊寫日記，邊吃早餐，邊喝咖啡…一早就這麼美好的開始~

今天，我們給自己安排一天花錢的行程……想體驗一下特別的活動…

after having a discussion with LiMei and comparing the price …we decided the dogs sled with Beck's Kennels, it costs around C$60 per each…（plus 5% tax).

It will take 1 hour for dogs sledding.

約莫下午一點，Beck's Kennels的專車來接送…

(很吃虧…臉很大!!　　又變大臉盆了…Damn, I have a big face!）

車上都是日本人……嚇到我和Limei 了…怎麼有這麼多日本人愛來Yellowknife??

Look at these!!!  DOGS~~~130 dogs they have!

 All of them have their own names, spaces and houses.

They were very excited, just like me!

16 dogs were ready to run!

 We were ready to go!

 I was first one in our team!

It was fucking cold!!! 

Run baby! Run!! Let's go to ride.

We were running on the lake!!   AWESOME 

 Turn left! 

 Beautiful sky. 

After round ride, look at their faces.....

But they are very strong and fast, and they were champion dogs in the dogs racing.

I made a film for my friends.  EXCITING!!!

It's a happy Saturday!!!

Day 32 & 34 : Northern Light

March 8 and 10, 2012 @ Yellowknife

We saw twice Northern light during our visiting.

How lucky we were.

When we arrived in Yellowknife, we didn't notice that was full moon night on March 8.
We were so worried that full moon would effect the northern light. but that night.....we saw a biggest northern light in our first night.

On March 9th morning, the B&B owner told us "you guys are very lucky, the night you saw last night was the biggest one I saw.''

But, I'm very sorry about the pictures are blurred because of freezing temperature.

We hoped to see the light again every night, but not so lucky all the time.
we saw that again on our third night in Yellowknife.

And I just knew I could take the pictures on my bed in the room.
NO MORE FREEZE!!

The Northern light was around northbound in the sky.

What an amazing light~~~~
