Taiwanese FEST in Toronto

What's happened in Toronto this weekend?

It's Taiwanese festival !!!
I'm so happy to see this in Toronto.
Because that is a good chance to promote Taiwan in different world.
身為台灣人流著台灣人的血，肯定是要推掉所有的活動，來此支持一下的!!

和幾個也是台灣來打工渡假的朋友相約在這邊見面…
順便交換一下目前的生活心得……(大家都好辛苦啊 T^T)

來到這邊…肯定是要先捧場一下台灣美食的呀…
固定中午不吃，就是為了等這一餐…想說要在異國大啖一下台灣美食的…
結果沒想到…去到現場看到這個情況!!!  好驚人啊!!!

(真是對不起呀，相機沒調好…整個大曝光   冏rz)

大家都願意排隊等 蚵。仔。煎 !!!!! 好驚人啊!!!
我個人就排了一個小時多才排到我…我是哪來的毅力和耐心啊?!
還好我們有二個人，chinny排牛肉麵約三十分鐘就來找我，在排隊當中二個人就把牛肉麵給解決掉了!

半筋半肉的牛肉，還加了二片薄牛肉，湯有點少…但大體上還是不錯吃的!

排了近一個小時多的隊…發現身邊願意等候的人大多是大陸人或香港人…
外國人也是有，但少數。。。。
也看到旁邊桌的食客擺滿一桌的食物，但遲遲不見他動手與動口。

真吸引人……

終於，有愈來愈靠近食物的感覺了…

既然排了那麼久，如果只點一樣蚵仔煎就太對不起我自己了…

不知為何大家都衝著蚵仔煎來…
若老實說，當然和正統的台灣味還是有點差，但我想可能是食材來源的關係…
但，若沒有在台灣吃過，說真的外行人也吃不出來……
對我來說，醬和辣椒還是有點差別。　不過，在多倫多，沒得選了啦！　
台味軒，已經滿足我了啦～～

＊話說　“台味軒“　老闆可是一位超熱心的台藉人士啊！！
跟ＫＡＮＧ大哥真是沒理由的搭上了線，原來他也是愛好馬拉松的跑者，偶爾也騎騎單車…
在多倫多住了二十多年了，開了一家中式便當店，生意可是好得不得了啊!!

最後再看一次有多少人…

這人真的把這棟建築物給包圍了…四面八方的…大家為了台灣美食願意排上一個小時…
我覺得台灣觀光局真該好好的推展台灣道地美食。瞧瞧這些人……真懂得吃啊！！！ 哈哈

吃完美食，其實今天的重頭戲在…演唱會
從台灣來的一些團體…如: 董事長樂團、MAGIC POWER、強辯樂團、叮噹(雖然她是大陸人)，連電音三太子也來了!!!

出場的叮噹，歡聲轟雷呀～～

看到這麼多人來捧場，還真有點給他港痛啊……

雖然說相較之前，台灣人的人數遠遠小於其他國家的人…

但能看到這些人這麼擠在這…

有可能很多都是衝著叮噹而來的“華人“　但還是挺溫心的！

看完演唱會…也十一點了。。。

這算是第一次這麼晚還在外面晃，好在，多倫多真的是個很安全的城市

呼…今天又好忙啊～

day tour - High Park

I had a half day off suddenly, and i had no idea what to do in this afternoon

I brought my lunch with me to work....

突然得到的半天假，讓我突然不知所措…

連便當都帶了也微波好了……就找個麥當勞把便當給吃了！

I called Chinny, and met at High Park and walked around there.

打了通電話給chin，約在HIGH PARK 見面，逛一下HIGH PARK

(別說，連公園都沒逛過)

it's a huge park in Toronto. see.

There're lots of wild gooses and pigeons were frighting for food, and not scared of people arh.

有很多雁和鴿子同時在搶食啊…不怕人……

What kind of peaceful place you can find in this beautiful afternoon.

I'm not sure what it is, but this girl was feeding him with maple leaf.

I saw two squirrels climbing on the tree, and they were eating in headstand.

There is a huge maple garden in the High park.

Behind of me is Grenadier Pond Lake, it might be running to Lake Ontario.

Oh My God, Im so fat..... T T

There is a small zoo in the High Park.

by the way, High park is very huge.
so there have many places for different sports, such as baseball, football and hockey....etc.

this afternoon, we saw some kids played baseball game.
and their parents just sat beside the field and watched their kids, and chatted with other parents.

some kids are so lovely ar~

在安大略省的 所得稅 Income Taxes

在多倫多已經領了二次薪水了，每次領薪水都有被扣稅…
項目還頗複雜的…不妨拿出來和大家討論一下。。。

在多倫多的繳稅方式是每個月從薪資裡面扣除，到明年四月時就計算稅金後再進行退稅。

因為我是正職的工作，所以除了基本薪資外，公司還會付我假日支薪部份，以4%的總薪去計算。
ex: 如果薪水是 C$800，可以再另外領到C$32的假日薪水。

至於繳稅的部份呢…就分很細啦…
1) CPP (Canada Pension Plan 加拿大退休計畫) : 以薪資4.95% 計算
2) EI (Employment Insurance 就業保險) : 以薪資 1.78% 計算
3) Federal Income Tax (聯邦所得稅) : 年薪 C$ 41544以下者，以15%計算 (已包含5.05%的省政府稅)
4) Provincial Tax (省政府所得稅) : 年薪的$37,774以5.05% 計算 + C$ 37776~75550 以 9.15%  + 超過 C$75550 以上者以11.16% 計算


我個人推測，明年四月只有部份的所得稅會被退回。。。應該會有 2/3被退回吧！

有位會計師告訴我，如果在境內消費的話 (等於重覆付稅) ，退稅機會會比沒消費者還要高。。。

【Chef】 Carol style pasta

Today, I threw off the mixed vegetable, tried to use real vegetable - green/red pepper and eggplant - to cook my dinner, oh yap, and pork.

今天，擺脫三色蔬菜用真正的蔬菜做晚餐。

just cut it what you want.

隨便你想怎麼切

boiling it with BBQ sauce and hot pepper, and noodle also, boiling the noodle with BBQ sauce.

用BBQ醬去煮青菜和麵

that's it !!! this is my dinner!

It's huge!!! but it's truly fill me up.

份量很大啊!!!   但這樣才能填飽我的肚子，不至於在十點十一點時還想吃東西~~~  真冏r2

【Chef】Pasta with BBQ pork

Today, I got a phone call from office.

The officer asked me "Shu-Ling, I never talk about the TRAINER with you.

Would you like to be the trainer? You don't have to worry, we will give your another training'' 

'' Of course, for sure!!"  That's all my answer.   I'm so excited about this.

So today, I decided to add BBQ pork into my celebrate dinner!

First step : the noodle, just like usual.

and I fired some pork mixed the BBQ pepper.

and made the pasta sauce.

Then I added the noodle into the pasta, wait for 3 mins until the noodle absorbed the sauce. (it's easy)

it's done! 

It's a huge dinner!!

【Chef】Sunday Pancake !

What's a beautiful Sunday morning !

Today I'd like to make a pancake for my breakfast to start my beautiful Sunday!

多麼美好的一個早晨!

今天我打算做一份鬆餅當早餐，開啟我美好的星期天!

Aunt Jemima pancake powder ! looks nice.

Preparation : 

mixed 175ml (3/4 cup) water and 250ml (1 cup) of the mixed powder.
很簡單，只要混合水和粉就好了。

and mix them

攪拌……

pour slightly less than 50 ml (1/4 cup) batter for each pancake onto skillet.

用一點點的奶油熱鍋，然後倒入鬆餅糊

Turn when pancake bubbles and bottoms are golden brown.

當鬆餅有點冒泡時或是變成金黃色時就翻面

Continue to cook for approximately 1 min or until second side is golden brown.

繼續加熱約一分鐘，或是一直到另一面也變金黃色。 (真漂亮的顏色呀)

I also made the egg beside my pancake.

我還加了一顆蛋和熱狗在我的鬆餅旁邊。

It's seem so easy to make the pancake by myself.
Why was I so stupid to pay a lot of money to have a pancake every weekend when I was in Taiwan?
it's more cheap and more easy than I though.
沒想到自己做鬆餅這麼簡單，為什麼我在台灣時笨到每個禮拜都要花錢出去吃鬆餅??
這個比自己想像中的簡單多了、便宜多了。

mmmmmm......yummy... ...   I love this morning !

You know why I like pancake?

Because I feel happiness when I was eating pancake with honey or batter.

你知道為何我喜歡吃鬆餅嗎?
因為吃到鬆餅和蜂蜜或是奶油，會讓我感覺到幸福。。。。。

Overturned POLICE in Toronto

Did you see any different from this photo?

yes, there is a word '' POLICE'' was overturned in front of the police car.

I saw this when I wan in L.A. and Toronto, and I still don't understand why.

I though that means '' against “ or “ reject “.

I asked some people, they don't have answer for me.

OKAY! 

Today I got the answer from a fireman.

I just walked to him and asked him about this overturned word.

He told me the overturned wold is warming the driver in front of police cars or fire engines, and they can see the word from their rear view mirror. 

So they would know the polices or fire men are coming!!   Just get off the way !!!

it's amazing !!!!

Oh yeah!   I got the answer!!!

是的，POLICE的字是相反的~~

我在美國和加拿大都有看到，也想了很久…以為是反對、拒絕的意思! 

也問了一些人…他們也沒有答案

今天，我，本人。大膽的問了一位消防員…為什麼會這樣？

他說：這是給前面車輛的駕駛員看的，他可以從後照鏡看到後面來車，所以字會變成正體字！！

你說你說你說…是不是很神奇！！！　　

【Chef】curry rice

Since moved into new place, I feel having a home is so great!

For saving more money, cooking for my daily dinner and next lunch is a best way.

I made the rice with curry and some vegetable.

mmmm....yummy~  because I'as tired of pasta with tomato saurce.

half it for dinner, and the moreover half for tomorrow lunch.

I don't like microwave food, but sometimes you don't have choice.

I made the rice with beef and potato.

but it's not successful.  

Maybe I forgot to add the spice!

I made the fried banana.

I learn from Dele, and it's not too hard to cook.

To fried the banana chips and add some black pepper.

if you use the hardness banana, you will get some banana chips like potato chips.

if used the soft banana, its taste will be like a baked banana with cheese.

both are delicious for dinner.

Try it by yourself!

Special things in Kensington

Where can I go this Sunday?

AHA!    Please visit the Kensington Market on the Sunday in every end of month.

They block the Augusta ave. and Kensington ave. from 12:00 ~ 19:00.

All restaurants have boots in front of the doors, and clothing also.

所有的餐廳都在店門口再擺一攤，服飾店也是。

And many different music performances and dancing show.

還有一些特別的音樂和舞蹈表演

Drums music - you can feel it from your heart, and follow the drums and beats and move your body naturally.

I love drums music!

打擊樂 - 可以完全發自內心的感受，且不自覺的跟著鼓聲和節奏舞動身子，我愛打擊樂!

This guy charge whole team, he is not tall, but he is charming!!
這個男的掌管整個team，他不高，但很有魅力!

Free dancing - this woman is not pretty, but she have passion on dancing. 

自由舞蹈，這個女人雖然不美、不瘦，但她有她對舞蹈的熱情。

And there have all kinds of music from different people, counties and cultures.

Kensington is a really special place.

還有很多來自不同的人、國家和文化的音樂，肯辛頓真的是個特別的地方。

I don't know what they're rap, but I like that tempo.

what kinds of people I love to see?  It's kids!

they have beautiful face and vivid looks, so lovely!

Today was a busy day! 

Move-in to new room and visit special event,  I love my day!
